RE:       Executive Summary – Sequence in Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) for the Master of Science. in Nursing

The Clinical Nurse Leader Sequence provides a vehicle for the Mennonite College of Nursing to partner with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and 3 central Illinois medical centers (BroMenn, OSF, and Memorial) in preparing registered nurses as clinical nurse leaders. This specialization within the MSN degree will meet a specific need in the delivery of safe and effective patient care.

The program is designed to accommodate 6 students annually.  Existing courses will be used with the addition of 2 new courses (6 hours), of which one is on-line, and a new practicum (7 hours) to occur in the medical center environment.  No new university resources are needed for the program as course coverage will be provided by existing MCN faculty with the clinical partners providing clinical mentors and student stipends.
