Faculty Caucus Information Item 3/26/08; No further action to be taken.

ASPT Proposed Revisions: Additional Candidate Materials and Confidentiality.  Discussed as an Information Item on 3/26/08 by the Faculty Caucus.

Update from Linda Wellenreiter, University Review Committee Secretary, 7/30/09: “The April 7, 2008 University Review Committee Minutes (Not Faculty Caucus) notes that Rodger Singley reported that the Senate Agenda item was discussed at length at its March 26, 2008 Faculty Caucus.  The URC minutes indicate the issue will be tabled to the next URC meeting at which time the URC will consider withdrawing the proposal from the Faculty Caucus.

The April 7 2008 URC Minutes posted an agenda for the next URC Meeting, April 21.  In a hand written note by me, "Pulled from Agenda 4.7.08" Agenda item III. Tabled agenda item regarding Confidentiality and Additional Materials.  The April 21 meeting was cancelled.  There was a May 5 URC meeting; however, I don't have minutes for that meeting and this agenda item (Confidentiality and Additional Materials does not appear on the URC agenda again.

My suggestion is that the URC did remove it from their agenda and if the URC notified the Faculty Caucus that they wanted it removed from the Caucus agenda, I don't have a copy of that correspondence.

Rodger, if you can provide this(correspondence to remove from caucus agenda)  to both Cynthia and me, we can quickly take care of this unfinished business.  If not, we can put back on URC agenda for fall and THEN take care of caucus unfinished business.”

Update from Rodger Singley, URC, Email of 8/18/09.

“My recollection is that we did vote to remove this from the caucus

agenda but I cannot find a record of this in my notes or email.  I think

the proper way to handle this is to bring this up for discussion at our

first URC meeting and have a vote to remove it from the caucus items to

make this official.”

Response from Roger Singley, 9/12/09: “A motion was made and passed at the URC meeting on 09/11/2009 to remove the item "Additional Candidate Materials and Confidentiality" from the faculty caucus agenda.  At this point I would not anticipate the URC taking any further action on this matter.”
