Call to Order

Approval of Faculty Caucus Minutes of November 10, 2004

Motion: By Senator Schlenker, seconded by Senator Boser, to approve the Faculty Caucus Minutes of November 10, 2004. The minutes were unanimously approved.

11.05.04.01 Salary Increments for Faculty Promotion (Provost Presley)

The Senate annually receives information from the Provost concerning the standard salary increments for faculty promotion. Per the Provost’s memo, salary increments shall be paid to individuals promoted from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor ($2,250/year minimum) and from Associate Professor to Professor ($3000/year minimum) with the effective date of the promotion. This information is publicly transmissible.

Nomination of Executive Committee Faculty Member

Senator Crothers: We need to replace Senator Fazel on the Executive Committee for the spring. Typically, we try to get as broad a distribution as possible. Technically, the person will not formally be a member of the Executive Committee until the Senate elects that individual. However, the students agreed in Executive Committee that they had no objection to the member nominated by the Caucus attending the first Executive Committee meeting of the spring semester before she/he is officially elected.

Senator Boser: I nominate Roslyn Wylie to serve on the Executive Committee.

Senator Wylie: I will accept.

There were no additional nominations. The election of the faculty replacement for the Executive Committee will occur during the Senate meeting of January 26, 2005.
