October 13, 2004

(Approved)

Call to Order

Senate Chairperson Lane Crothers called the Faculty Caucus to order at 7:00 p.m.

Roll Call

Senate Secretary Paul Borg called the roll and declared a quorum.

Approval of Faculty Caucus Minutes of September 15, 2004

Motion: By Senator Plantholt, seconded by Senator Schlenker, to approve the Faculty Caucus Minutes of September 15, 2004. The minutes were unanimously approved.

University Curriculum Committee Faculty Representative Election

Thomas Craig of the College of Business was unanimously elected as a faculty representative on the University Curriculum Committee. His term of service is 2004-2007.

Academic Planning Committee Senate Faculty Representative

Senator Crothers: As you know, there are to be three faculty representatives from the Senate Faculty Caucus, two from the Academic Affairs Committee and one from the Planning and Finance Committee, selected to serve on the Academic Planning Committee. As there are currently only two Senate faculty volunteers from the caucus and none from either of the two internal committees, the Executive Committee has agreed to accept nominations for non-Senate faculty representatives.  The representative for the remaining caucus-at-large vacancy on the Academic Planning Committee does need to be from a college other than CAS or CFA, since they are already represented.

Executive Session: Summary of Salary Increments (Provost Presley)

Motion: By Senator Reid, seconded by Senator Plantholt, to enter into Executive Session. The motion was unanimously approved.

The caucus concluded its business in Executive Session.

Motion: By Senator Borg, seconded by Senator Reid, to end Executive Session. The motion was unanimously approved and the Senate Faculty Caucus returned to Open Session for the purposes of adjournment.
