Approval of Minutes of April 17, 2002

Motion XXXIII-137: To approve the Senate minutes of April 17, 2002. The minutes were unanimously approved.

 

 

Chairperson's Remarks:

Senator Crothers: Thanked numerous people for their help in getting him oriented to the new position of Chairperson of the Academic Senate. He included thanks to President Vic Boschini, Provost Al Goldfarb, Interim Provost Al Bowman, Vice President Stephen Bragg, SGA President Carolyn Bathauer, former Senate Chairperson Curt White, and Senate secretary, Cynthia James. He noted that 2002-2003 would be an active year and that the Senate would have the opportunity to have a great deal of influence on how the University operates in the future.

 

Senate Vice Chairperson/Student Government Association President's Remarks:

Senator Bathauer: The Student Government Association has formed two ad hoc committees to address the issues of a daytime transit system for Illinois State University and a September 11 Remembrance Day. SGA will begin interviewing for the RSO Faculty Advisory position next week.

 

Administrators' Remarks:

·        President Boschini: Congratulated Senators Crothers and Borg on their elections as Senate Chairperson and Secretary, respectively. He stated that the Provost Search Committee would begin meeting in June of 2002 in search of a replacement for Provost Al Goldfa
